As of Feb, 2014 they were just selected as the Official Action Camera of the US Formula 100 Championship, and they have a long list of others listed on their website. It is probably easier to just make these camera setting changes right from the camera without the need for the app.But I think I have seen 4 or 5 engines go by about 8-10 mph in the 3 years I’ve lived here. The development team forever revolutionized Action Cameras, creating the smallest, lightest, ultra-rugged, and most versatile cameras. Unfortunately no US confirmed pricing or availability for the Veho K-series has been released as yet by Veho, but as soon as information is announced we will keep you updated as always. Two variants of the Ego LS, both with new motion detection and continuous-photo modes, but one with LTE and one without, are slated to launch in June this year with an estimated price tag of $200. Maybe it was because I was heavily using the camera, but a handful of times to reset the camera is bothersome. I’ll have to tell the numerous neighbors in our neighborhood that walk across the tracks to cut to the City Park. When it comes to editing and post-processing, some products are a reference in the market, but with so many new programs available, some FREE, the future may be different. Several racing teams and Motorsports events have chosen the Replay XD cams for their ultra-light profile and durability, mounting options and the ability to provide live streaming 1080 HD video through built-in HDMI to a video transmitter in the car or to an HD recorder. Oh, I did see a few engines go by when we are playing out front since I basically live on a dead end street so there is rarely any traffic. Their form factor was amazing and so was some of the sample footage he shared, so I was intrigued. Unlike most competing POV action cams, the Replay XD1080 has a more natural FOV without the fisheye lens effect. I pressed the record button to record a few seconds of my family, but when I pressed the record button again to stop recording there was no response. I know this post has a clickbait sounding title, and for that I apologize, but I’m not writing this for click throughs or ad impressions. I was in contact with them for several months and they got a review kit with some of everything they make - both the XD1080 and XD720 cameras and all the accessories to try out; all in a nicely-designed foam-insert case. Otherwise, the 8-megapixel cam has WiFi, Bluetooth, and can partner with iOS and Android devices via the Liquid Image app like the outfit's other models. Snowy mountaintops and sheer dirt tracks are just a couple of locations fitting for an epic action cam segment, but they're not places you're likely to find a good WiFi connection. That's okay, because this is not nor is it intended to be a round-up of every single camera Sony has available. Even powering it off and on again doesn't reset it so you can depend on repeatability time and time again. Top of the range is the Veho K-seriesВ Muvi K-2 NPNG offering users 1080p HD video recording at maximum of 60fps (frames-per-second) together with 720p recording at 120 fps. There are various types of action cameras that are used from car racing to sky-diving to mountain biking to skateboarding or any other activity you can think of. The two external buttons on the camera body are simple access to power and recording, with a vidration feedback indicating a response to your action even in a loud environment (link at the racetrack). With the BlackVue app you can make changes to your camera’s settings such as the ISO, camera megapixel resolution, high-speed frame rate, self-timer, and a few more. Or, maybe I should say I showed them how Alexa desaturates color with overexposure: once a hue passes a point at or near middle gray in brightness, its saturation locks and it only gets brighter. This is about the things that software can do now and guessing at what it will do in the very, very near future. On a side note, the battery is rated to have a life of about 2 hours, and that seemed accurate from my use of the camera. Plus, trains run in our residential area about every few days mainly in the wee hours of the night because we can hear the train go by when we stay up super late to watch a movie. He offered this side-by-side comparison test two different scenarios and stock mounts with both the GoPro and the Replay XD in the video below. Replay XD Action Cameras endure and capture never before seen video from human and machine in the most extreme environments on Earth. Of course the train tracks are literally 2o yards opposite my driveway on the other side of an empty street and where the tracks and are unobstructed by anything seeing how you can see about half a mile in either direction.  With the app, you can take advantage of the Live View function on your Apple or Android phone. Even more compact and lighter than the XD1080, the XD720 is only 3.2" in length and less than an inch in diameter and weighs only 2oz (about the size of a roll of quarters). And with the BlackVue Sport from Pittasoft, this may be the action camera you are looking for. Several years ago, at an NAB focus group, I showed Sony the difference in how Alexa saturates color with overexposure vs. Made with hard-anodized aluminum cases that are water resistant without the need for an external housing for most applications, these lightweight POV action cams have the versatility and durability that even the most popular competitors can only dream of. About the size of a mini Maglight (3.6" length, 1" dia), the Replay XD1080 is full-featured and rugged. And I sure wouldn't take product testing to quite this extreme, but Douglas also decided to have a little fun on a dare. At CES, however, Liquid Image is mixing things up with the introduction of its new Ego LS camera, which we believe is the first to feature LTE connectivity. You can watch recorded videos or view picture images you took with the camera, and you can also make minor changes to the camera as well with the app. And what these cameras may lack in features their competitors products, such as WiFi, menu screens and a dozen different frame rates and photo option, the Replay XD cams are made for serious production. There are several well-engineered mounting options for the Replay XD cameras - two different sized mounts for the XD1080 and XD720, but the bases are the same for both. The program settings are listed on the inside of the rear cap for quick reference, but once you've set it, it remains in that program until you change it again. It's capable of transmitting WQVGA (400 x 240; bummer) video at 30 fps for up to two hours, or still images over 4G. But I found battery life can vary depending on usage, climate, leaving LCD screen on or off, and whether you conserve battery life by turning the camera off when not in use. It failed a few times when I tried to turn it on, so I had to power down the camera, pull the battery out, then turn the camera back on to get the WiFi working properly. Inconvenient, yes, but not a deal breaker for me. And speaking of removing the battery, I took the BlackVue camera with me on a weekend trip to Orlando, Florida with my family. The new Veho K-seriesВ Muvi K-2 NPNG action camera also offers double the bit rate video of the previous model, which has been increased to 32 Mbps, as well as a pre-record function, wireless connectivity and a waterproof casing enabling it to be submerge to depths of 100 meters. There was no response from any button I tried pressing, and I had to pull the battery to get the camera working again. This wouldn’t have been a big deal, but since I had the camera in the Frame Mount, it was cumbersome to remove the Frame Mount, then the LCD screen, then open the battery door to finally take out the battery. To ask which camera or camera maker is the best may come down to the features and accessories the camera has and how it benefits the user. The red dot at the top of the screen that lets you know you are recording would not go away. The back cap unscrews revealing the program setting buttons and LEDs, charge port and HDMI port and microSD card slot. Unfortunately, a handful of times I had to pull the battery because the camera seemed to be frozen. Replay XD was designed by a group of racing professionals with over 50 years of experience in the high performance racing industry. Rigid build quality and lower profile of the Replay XD provides greater stability in the shot. I first learned about the Replay XD cameras at last year's NAB Expo when my friend and colleague (and co-presenter of the POV Mini-Cam workshop) Douglas Spotted Eagle shared them with the crowd. Not only is the build quality of their cameras remarkable, but the design and build of all their accessories are brilliant. This little POV cam can be mounted just about anywhere and will deliver either 30 or 60 fps and is equally as durable as the XD1080 because it's made from the same materials. Many professionals in the video editing industry have grown with a list of programs as their reference for quite some time, but a new generation of users is not bound to the same names.  |
