The small form factor combined with an affordable price makes them an excellent alternative HD camera solution.  Those who don’t currently own a release of PowerDirector have to purchase the software to get the 4K video resolution support during editing. The GoPro Hero 3 HD video camera is capable of recording in cinematic 4K resolution, but some editing software will force users to downscale to a lower resolution, such as 1080p. GoPro launched its new HD Hero3 camera line this morning, which includes three versions in white, silver and black. The new 5.8 GHz version does not require a license, which makes this high-end wireless transmitter attractive to independent camera crews and production companies, as well as movie and show producers. With the help of its 12MP sensor, the Black Edition can shoot still photos in 30fps bursts. However, if users are to fully enjoy the benefits of 4K video, then they need editing software that can support it. The GoPro HD Hero3 Black Edition also records 2.7K video at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps, and 720p at 120fps, for slow-motion playback. According to the Cyberlink press release, the support for 4K formatting will allow users to maintain the format’s high resolution throughout the editing process.
