It also has a 155-degree wide-angle lens and is capable of taking a still photo 16 megapixels large.Although the Yi camera does not have a screen, it can connect with your phone using the WiFi function. You may have to wait to get a cats-eye view of the world, as there is no word if this will be available in the US. The Yi Action Camera can go into water for as deep as 40 meters with its optional waterproof casing. The Yi is a Wi-Fi capable camera and will come with an added feature that allows you to push the trigger remotely using your smart phone or tablet. Xiaomi is entering the US market this year, but only their cameras, fitness trackers, and other electronic accessories will be available through their Mi dot com website. Compared with SJcam SJ4000 wifi camera, Xiaomi Yi action camera has a better spec but just as cheap. Available in white and green, the 72g camera can also be bought with a selfie stick for 100 Yuan more. Luckily, it is quite easy to connect the Yi with your phone and the operation is fast and has a friendly GUI. When you check the shooting screen via the smart phone display it can be little inconvenient. At first sight, Xiaomi Yi action camera shows a fresh sense of its design (two color, white and green), and it looks like a very interesting product. Although It cannot shoot 4K video and neither has image stabilization, perhaps something to look forward to in their next camera model. For comparison, the budget GoPro Hero costs about twice as much, and the most affordable Sony Action Cam (the HDR-AS20) costs S$300. The Yi is really light, weighing in at only 72 grams, but that is without any of the protective housing. Xiaomi, which is known for selling devices at near cost, has a new Yi Action Camera that costs 399 Yuan, or about S$87 based on the current exchange rate. It was no surprise, as it offered enthusiasts one of the best entry level experiences at an unbeatable price. Currently the Xiaomi Mi Pro Action Camera is available in white and jungle green, but selling in China only.  Expectedly, the Yi Action Camera also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, so remote shooting and wireless file transfer via a mobile app are possible. What Xiaomi's Yi camera lacks in toughness, it makes up for by offering lots of accessories as a package deal. If you've ever wanted a GoPro but couldn't part with the cash, then this may be your chance. I can say that $64 is only a price from the Xiaomi official website, even Chinese customers can not buy at this price. Like any other Mi products’ box, Xiaomi Yi action camera has environmentally friendly packaging. It is made of anti-freezing metal materials, so you won’t have to worry about low temperatures. UPDATE: Xiaomi released the iOS App in March so it is now compatible with both Android and Apple. Packaging accessories is actually very simple , except for the camera and Self- rod body(travel version only), in the standard package only the instructions and data lines are included. Xiaomi's Yi camera will retail for only $64 USD, which is less than half the price of GoPro's basic Hero model which sells for $130 USD. In the back side, you can find the TF card slot, USB and HDMI port, pull down the lid on the back of Yi action camera. The Android version of the app is already available, but the iOS version is only coming in April. For a camera to offer these specs and features at such a low price sounds almost too good to be true. However, in the March 2, Xiaomi launched its own sport action camera – Xiaomi Yi action camera to go into the action camera market this was also a big surprise. But the pixels of its Lens reach a surprising 16-megapixel, which is even higher than Gopro Hero 3. You can use the software to connect with your phone and use it to see what your shooting or set some shooting modes of the Yi camera. Quite expectedly Xiaomi is offering a dedicated waterproof case, which will allow you to submerge the Mi Pro Action Camera into up to 40 meters deep water. The Xiaomi Mi Pro Action Camera (or Yi Action Camera in China) comes in two editions – a Basic one with just the camera with a 16GB card, which costs CNY 399 or €56, and Travel edition which also packs a selfie kit for CNY 499 or €70.  |
